Step by step

Already licensed somewhere else?
Oregon is not a member of the ASLP-IC: audiologists and speech-language pathologists licensed in another state need a full Oregon license before starting.
- Licensed in another state
- Applicants licensed elsewhere use the standard application and must have a letter of good standing sent directly from every jurisdiction where they have held a professional license; ASHA CCC verification may be submitted instead of a Praxis score report. [2]
- Interstate compact
- Oregon has not enacted the ASLP-IC: HB 2357 (2025 Regular Session), which would have enacted the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact, is listed as still in House committee. [4]
Before your full license
New graduates and clinical fellows
- Temporary or provisional license
- A conditional SLP license lets a clinical fellow practice for a limited time while completing clinical fellowship year requirements; applicants need an official master's transcript and a background check. [2]
After you are licensed
Keeping the license active
- Continuing education
- SLPs must complete 20 hours of professional development per renewal period, including 1 hour in cultural competency. [3]
