- State law exam
- Applicants must complete the open-book Nevada Jurisprudence Exam, passed with a score of 100%, before submitting the online application. [3]

Moving to the state
Already licensed somewhere else?
Nevada is not a member of the OT Compact: occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants licensed in another state need a full Nevada license before starting.
- Licensed in another state
- Under NRS 640A.165, the Board may issue an expedited license by endorsement to an occupational therapist who meets the NBCOT requirements and holds a valid, unrestricted license in another state, territory or the District of Columbia. [4]
Before your full license
New graduates and clinical fellows
- Temporary or provisional license
- A temporary license is available to occupational therapists licensed in another state who intend to practice in Nevada for less than 12 months; it expires after 6 months and may be renewed once. A provisional license is available to graduates who have not yet passed the NBCOT exam. [3]
After you are licensed
Keeping the license active
- Renewal
- A standard license expires 2 years from the date of issuance and may be renewed up to 60 days before expiration. [5]
- Continuing education
- Licensees must complete at least 24 hours of continuing education per biennial renewal cycle (up to 10 hours may carry over) and must pass the Nevada Occupational Therapy Jurisprudence Examination at least once every 5 years. [2]
